Services
Focused psychiatric care for adults who think and feel deeply.
At Colorado Mood Center, we specialize in helping adults make sense of emotional patterns that don't fit cleanly into a single diagnosis—whether it's depression that feels agitated, anxiety that feels wired rather than worried, or intense swings in energy and focus.
We offer tailored, evidence-based treatment with a particular focus on mood disorders, complex emotional presentations, and ADHD in adults.
Initial Diagnostic Evaluation
A comprehensive 60-minute psychiatric evaluation designed to clarify diagnosis, review past treatment, and create a personalized plan moving forward. We take time to understand your emotional patterns, thought processes, family history, and life context—not just your checklist of symptoms.
Includes: Diagnostic clarification, review of past medications/therapies, recommendations for treatment (medication and/or referrals), time for questions and collaborative discussion.
Medication Management
Thoughtful, individualized prescribing with an emphasis on safety, tolerability, and meaningful benefit. We don’t believe in “chemical imbalances” as a catch-all—we believe in dialogue, data, and treating the whole person.
We offer careful medication adjustments over time, regular check-ins (typically monthly, then less often once stable), psychoeducation about expected effects and side effects, and coordination with your therapist or primary care provider when appropriate.
Second Opinions & Consultation
Already working with a provider, but wondering if your current plan is the best fit? We offer one-time or short-term consults to help you understand your options.
These may be especially helpful if:
- You’ve tried multiple medications with little success
- Your mood symptoms don’t match typical depression or anxiety
- You want a fresh perspective on diagnosis or next steps
Specialized Focus Areas
We work especially well with people who:
- Have mood symptoms that feel agitated, irritable, or cycling
- Have tried antidepressants but feel emotionally blunted or worse
- Suspect ADHD, but also experience mood instability or anxiety
- Feel "too intense" or misunderstood by past providers
- Struggle with mixed features, bipolar spectrum traits, or atypical presentations
We also treat:
Depression (including treatment-resistant depression), generalized anxiety and panic, adult ADHD, OCD, PTSD (mild-to-moderate severity)
